Join us for a live performance in conjunction with the new exhibition, Bahia Reverb, part of our five-year partnership with Art + Practice. These captivating dance duets celebrate the orixás (spirits) of Brazilian Candomblé: Exu, Ogum, Iansã, Xangô, Oxum, Oxóssi, and Iemanjá, with one dancer performing the traditional Afro-Brazilian movement vocabulary version and a second dancer portraying a contemporary street dance version of the same orixá.
This program will take place in Art + Practice’s Public Program space at 4334 Degnan Boulevard, Leimert Park.
